Common questions from buyers sourcing instrument transformers.

What is the difference between a current transformer and a voltage transformer?

A current transformer (CT) steps current down from high values (e.g. 400A) to a standard 1A or 5A for metering and protection. A voltage transformer (VT), also called a potential transformer (PT), steps voltage down from e.g. 11kV to 110V / 100V. Both isolate the measuring instruments from the high-voltage primary circuit.

What accuracy class should I choose for billing metering?

For revenue/billing metering, use class 0.2 or 0.2S. For general indication, class 0.5 is usually sufficient. For protection relays, choose 5P or 10P with the appropriate accuracy limit factor (ALF). Tell us your application and we will recommend the right class.

Do you supply CT/PT with a type test report?

Yes. Every order comes with a routine test report, and type test reports are available for all standard models. This is normally required for utility approval — we supply these documents for submission to your utility.

Can you manufacture to our local utility standard?

Yes. Send us the specification drawing or your utility's technical requirement (ratio, burden, accuracy class, creepage distance, terminal layout), and our engineers will confirm feasibility and price. We have supplied to projects in Nigeria, Zambia, Tanzania and other markets.

What is the minimum order quantity and lead time?

We accept small trial orders — there is no large MOQ barrier for a first order. Typical production lead time is 25-35 days, plus marine transport to your port. Tell us your quantity and destination and we will confirm exactly.

What are your payment terms?

Standard terms are TT 30/70 — 30% deposit, 70% balance before shipment after FAT (factory acceptance test). Long-term partners can be offered credit support.

Do you ship to Nigeria / Zambia / Tanzania?

Yes — Africa is one of our main markets. We ship CIF to your country's seaport (e.g. Lagos, Dar es Salaam, Walvis Bay) and can arrange special shipments. For Zambia we also maintain a local warehouse in Lusaka (Plot No. 12917, Mumbwa Road, Chinika Industrial Area).
